Pearl Solar is a 67 MWdc solar facility on 540-acres of flat terrain in Bakersfield, Texas. The project will be the first to install the Sun Action Tracker single-axis design pst-1ax6 and over 200,000 Mission Solar Energy modules by Mortenson craft. The project team will self-perform mechanical (piles, caissons, foundations, tracker install, PV assembly) and electrical (inverters, CAB system, module wiring, combiner and control boxes, string wiring) scopes.
Mortenson’s Civil Group and High Voltage & Transmission (HVT) Group will self-perform scopes for this project as well. Civil will be responsible for clearing and grubbing, installation of roads, and the storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP). HVT will build the project site substation with an interconnecting voltage of 138 kVa.
The project team anticipates around 150 craft during the peak of construction. The project is scheduled to be completed by the middle of February 2017 and will produce enough energy to power roughly 7,900 homes.
